The Camp Challenge facility is located on five acres next to Mill Creek Park. The Camp is the site for the summer Intensive Outpatient Program, a six-week program for children with serious social skills deficits and significant disruptive behavior problems that are interfering with their ability to successfully function at home.
Admission Requirements
Children between the ages of 7-12 with a history of adjustment, emotional or behavioral difficulties, are residents of Mahoning County and clients of the Center are appropriate for referral to the summer outpatient program.
Activities
All camp therapeutic activities are based upon the enhancement of fundamental goals of:
Building positive self-esteem
Developing respect for others
Learning positive and appropriate ways to deal with problems
Camp Store
Children attending Camp work towards behavioral goals and earn points that can be used to "buy" toys in the Camp Good Behavior Store.
