                                      How To Get Services

D&E Counseling Center is a comprehensive provider of mental health services designed to respond to the many and different behavioral health care needs of families and children.

Anyone interested in obtaining services can call the D&E Counseling Center 24 hours a day at
                                      (330) 793-2487 or 1-888-840-KIDS(5437). After-hours calls are answered by a hotline who will then contact our crisis staff, if needed.

When someone calls or stops in and requests services, the situation is reviewed immediately to ascertain whether or not a crisis exists. Crisis cases are immediately seen by a mental health professional for counseling.

If it is not a crisis, a Diagnostic Assessment would be scheduled. After the initial assessment, the family/child is assigned to a therapist, community support worker and/or doctor.

Referral Requirements for Admission to Care:
If you feel your family/client can benefit from D&E Center Services, you need to make sure the following applies:

                                      • The child/adolescent is between the ages of 1 and 17 years, 12 months
                                      • The child/adolescent is thought to have a problem that is primarily an emotional or behavioral problem.
                                      • The Parent/Guardian of the child is willing to give permission to evaluate and treat the problem. In some situations, children 14 and older can receive limited services without parental consent.
