Linkages - "Linking Teens to Help"
The primary function of this service is the early identification of depression, suicide risk and other mental health issues among students by promoting and coordinating the implementation of various screening programs, such as Red Flags Program; SOS: Signs of Suicide and the TeenScreen Assessment. Secondarily, this service provides on-site mental health/behavioral consultation to assist schools in addressing and coordinating services for students with identified mental health needs.
Education
The D&E Center's School Mental Health Liaison works with school personnel to assist in instituting the Red Flags program into the school's curriculum.
Screening & Referral
Utilizing one of several mental health screening instruments, including TeenScreen and/or SOS; Signs of Suicide, the Center staff administers and scores screening surveys. Should signs of depression or other emotional problems present themselves, the worker will contact parents and may recommend the child obtain a more complete diagnostic assessment.
